Denver’s hot spots to cool off this summer

Posted by on Jul 7, 2014 in Blog | 0 comments

I’ll admit- I’ve neglected my blog site for too long.  While I have been writing for other websites, Culinary Connectors, Ragnar Relay and Calorie Secrets, my own blog has taken a back seat.  I am hoping to revitalize it again! Through my business and other work opportunities, I have had the opportunity to get more familiar with Denver’s food scene and top spots to visit.  While I definitely have a long list of places I still want to try, I was very impressed with these local gems throughout...

Nude Food Breakfast Boost

I just love this supplement from Nude Foods.  Pure, simple ingredients with no added fillers.  Ingredients include: almonds, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds, spirulina, psyllium powder, cinnamon.  The fruit flavor has added flaxseeds and berry powders; cocnut pecan has a live probiotic and  chia seeds.  What is the result of this?  Amazing nutrition value and hardly any sugars!                     These blends can be added to yogurt, smoothies, cold or hot...

The BBC states only 1 in 5 adults in Great Britain eat the recommended 5 per day servings of fruits and vegetables.  The article notes the “5 A Day” campaign started around 2003.  It seems the campaign hasn’t done much to change the state of fruit and veggie intake.  The article suggests the campaign is stooping a but lower and asking to people to just get 1 extra fruit or veggie per day.  My guess is in the US, we are probably very similar to 1 in 5 in Great Britian. Not surprisingly, 17% of...

Chicago Favorites: Farmer and French Market

Posted by on May 14, 2012 in Blog | 1 comment

During my time in Chicago for the National Restaurant Association food show, I had the chance to visit an array of Chicago’s restaurants and markets.  I grew up in Michigan, and we used to go to Chicago a lot.  I love that windy city!  My uncle who lives in Chicago was our tour guide.  We went to an amazing Morrocan, Thai and sushi place over the weekend.  My favorites, however, included the Green City Market we visited on Saturday morning and the French Market.  They both were so unique and fun! ...
